Oh yeah - I saw this running when I rode up the bikepath one time. Certainly adds a new meaning to "the Gnar!"

But hey - it meets the discharge permit requirements so it must be fine!

At least the urban South Platte's a lot better than it USED to be. I've heard some stories that would make you nauseous. Unfortunately there's still a long way to go, particularly with respect towater quality. Right now there's a full-blown river restoration project ready to go for the reach between 8th Ave. and Zuni, which would include removal of the low-head dam at the Xcel power plant and construction of whitewater features. Once done you'll be able to boat from Chatfield to Confluence. This project is just sitting there waiting for the Federal Govt to come up with $$ to fund it.
