I'll take the bait

The feeling of watching a bro suffer time and time again in Black rock and then finally one season he gets his act together and stays in his boat.

That feeling of looking at something with a bro that you know doesn't really want to run it but that if you do he has to sack up.

The joy to talking trash to any boater you know and expecting it in full force in return.

The moment the fear leaves and you just paddle.
The moment fear turns to self-satisfaction.
"self-aggrandizing jackass" - it says it right on the label

1. When Pete temporarily becomes seperated from his craft.

2. When Pete has to buy everyone icecream.

Number 2 might actually be better than number 1 depending on who you talk to.

well yeah, that is gonna hurt...

my favorite things about kayaking....

Watching my (then) 6 yr old son Henry compete in the downriver race at Lyons and finish it too

Having him tell me that paddling with EJ makes him nervous (it took three hours to finally get it through his head that EJ wasn't trying to kill him in the hole)

Watching him compete in the North American Junior Olympics Whitewater Championships and US Cup in K-1 Slalom and oddly enough, a little C-2 with Sam Drevo as his rudderman.

Watching him learn to surf and play

Letting him lead on the river

Watching him swim Smelter 3 times out of 5 attempts, he made it on two and picked his own line.

hearing him call me on a bet he made with me (see, daddy, I told you the cooking lady was going to swim, where's my dollar?) Jon & Don at CK know what I am talking about there.

Learning to become his shuttle driver....

GaryE, you still alive????
And the Lord said, let there be whitewater. So on Friday, the 13th day of the month....

My favorite things about kayaking:

1. Lief's mom.

2. J.J's receding hair line.

3. Marty's swim count

4. Higinbotham's Ice Cream Goddess Poster (aquired recently in Ecuador)

5. Randy's swimming, and swimming, and swimming.

6. How bad Jackson boats suck, and consequently so does Keck

7. Keck stomping a 40 footer in a Wave Sport!

8. How Gary E. has a mid life crisis every 2 years

9. Getting the 303 wanks fired up on the Buzz

10. gh- and all of his well thought out posts sin redundency.

11. Boobs

12. The mountain buzz infraction points.

13. Pabst with a lime (Tropical Wisconsin)

14. Watching Randy swim.

15. Watching the elders run saftey instead of the shit.

16. Lief's mom

17. Getting phone calls because of my Buzz antics, with threats of an ass whoopin'

18. Hearing stories of the Steamboat posse getting handed in my back yard, EVERY TIME

19. The Big South, without scouting or portaging, in 1.5 hrs after work.

20. Catching Fish on the big south, while the gapers are scouting/portaging.

21. Getting my ass handed next year, because of all the shit I talk.

Happy Winter

Hey hyde, yeah still kicking. We've got like 7ft of snow in 8 days so I've been skiing a lot.

Sounds like the beatings are gonna be huge in CO if the snow keeps coming. I know the swim captions will rally the guppies for a swim meet. Need new gear hang at coors and chill.

Lotsa, have you learned to kayak yet? The swim team is getting pretty stout from what I hear. You haven't seen "lotsawater" yet, call me in late april and bring a dry suit.

As for the old schoolers stompin lines? S Young--isn't he play boating and swimming on creeks?

J Bo, has he left the valley in 5 yrs? If you have only ran 3 runs in 5 yrs you better stomp that shit!

Some more of my favorites are watching T rescues, reps yard sale'n their sh&*t. Oh and the victim(gordon) wondering why all his cheap arse sh*(t is breaking in half.
