WP cameras advice

my pentax Optio 10 LCD sreen got crunched, so I am on the market for a new waterproof digi cam. Anyone have any good suggestions for the $300 and minus genre? no problem wiht the camera I had, but it is good to shop around.

I loved my W10, I drowned it in Westwater. The little hole for the tripod got punctured and I went diving with the camera in my pocket. The next thing the thing is full of water. I still have the camera, I could send you the LCD if you wanted to swap it and see if it would work.

But if you are looking for a new alternative you have many choices now.

My W30 has worked great for 3 years or so - but it's two generations old by now.

The screen on my Pentax WPi finally cracked too, just last week after many years of serious abuse and almost 5000 pics. I can still see the bottom 1/3 of the screen but choosing modes is now purely from memory. I came real close to getting a W60 or W80 but went with the Panasonic TS1. I know two people with the W60 that love 'em. I hope those guys in that review aren't full of shit.
Just got confirmation of delivery today!

I've owned W10 for 3 years before I drowned mine and it served me really well. I really think any waterproof camera you go with now will get decent results. I am personally more after video than pics, so TS1 is looking really good to me.

Anyone wants my Olympus 1030SW?

I have an Olympus 1030SW in my shopping cart right now at Amazon. What do you want for it? Seems like at least one of the reviews for all those cameras have experienced a leaky one. What's the deal with the waterproof digitals? I need one soon.

You can get a waterproof enclosure for a canon S series for real cheap, then you can beat it pretty hard without problems.

Also I think the G series has an enclosure that is reasonable.

Discover Denver, stay there!
