Wolf Creek Falls

Hey, I'm going to be around the Wolf Creek area on saturday and was thinking about dropping the falls on the pass. I've never really done waterfalls before. I've done the Upper East, but those seem more like slides than falls. Anyone done WC falls? Are they good starter falls? All I really know is what I've read in the book. Would anyone want to meet up on Sat sometime and do them with me?

Rat, the first one is into a a small pool that usually has wood on the way out. It's a 20ft slide. You can portage the rapids if there is wood and walk 200 yards down and get a perfect 20ft vert falls. The end, now I hard hike out. Don't go lower than this falls with a boat. Some really cool falls to look at (some go, some go into doom or pain) but won't go in a boat. Alot of work for two falls but they are pretty cool and fun.

Is there anything at all worth dealing with below the Wolf Ck parkandhuckandhike section?

Todd G ? or somebody told me that there was some stuff in there, it had been run, but lots of wood of course.

Just looking for something new. I may be in Colo this summer a bit. And I just f_ing LOVE to carry my boat around in the mountains. Especially in heavy timber. Preferably with mosquitoes.

Of course UPstream of the tunnel of love is a whole different "kettle of wax"

GD! Didn't think that you would have a big vaca scheduled with the new baby (congrat's by the way). Let me know when you are gonna be out here. I've got a week off before Norway and would be up for getting after it. Let me know buddy.

I'm pretty sure Todd was talking about above the tunnel. If he wasn't, he was smoking heavy heavy herbs. Below the last park and huck, the river goes through some drops for about a half mile of wood infested crap.

Than it goes into a gorge with 7 or so waterfalls up to around 40+ feet. A couple of the falls look really good, but they wash into falls that look very bad. I'm pretty sure no one has went in? Todd?

As for looking for runs to do, start taking your vacations over in the Winds here in WY. We have 7 first D missions scheduled for the 08 season if the snow ever melts. Colorado is rad, but you've been there and done that. Let's go hike another 8 miles together. Hope you're well brotha

Leaving the states on July 3 and get back on July 19. Heading there with a few guys from here. We are staying with Marianne Saether through her Norway Daze for the first half, and then I am gonna try and meet up with some locals and keep the party rolling. While the first part of that is quite possible, I think he was talking about the lower part. And "wood infested crap" sounds about like what I remember.

I've taken a good look at the upper stuff. Land Of the Giants and all. At least one of those drops looks GOOD. Hasn't anyone hucked that yet!?

I saw a bolt placed at the lip of one but figured it was maybe from some ice-climbing. There is wood that has clearly been cut out of an LZ too.

Anyone notched that sh_t yet?

I may have to adjust plans to WY. I'd love to get back into the Bighorns too. Just figured ColoRADo was a bit closer and cheaper in this age of unreal gas prices. I've only got a couple weeks to spend this year. I'll be in touch.
