Why do the poudre flows suck so bad?

It seems as though it has been warm lately, yet the flows keep dropping, is the poudre done already or is there more still to come?

was snowing up high this past weekend

We were boating up high on Poudre on Memorial Day. It was cold, windy, but warmed by the sun. The snow up high was not and one of the cabin owners mentioned the water up there had come down by 8" or so over course of 1 day. It should come up again with the heat, but probably not for awfully long.

Here's my theory:

Dam releases (Long Draw, I believe) early in May gave us decent boating water then, but they stopped the releases in mid May and are now filling up again with what little runnoff there is. Once full, the flows will come back up for the remainder of the runnoff and then come back down quickly. I was hoping for a peak of around 4, but have since revised my estimate to 3.5, about 3 days in to the next hot spell. Then the flows plummit and will be gone by end of June. Perhaps a chance for more releases in July, with levels of 2.5 at best.

My peak prognostication: 3.5ft on June 12.

I'll bet it starts coming back up over the next day or two. Temperatures droped below freezing in the alpine over the weekend, locking up the snowpack above 10,000ft. Still freezing up there at night but daytime temps are on the up, so am guessing it will rebound soon. Check this link for temperatures at Cameron Pass, 10,000ft (base of Poudre headwaters):
