Where should I go?! :-)

Heading in from TN and curious whats up with the extra snow & river levels... What's the best timing right now?

Vallecito looks high on the gauges and while OBJ is at a good level it doesn't seem like crested butte has fully come in yet... Interested in catching south mineral down south... I'd also love to catch vallecito, lime, 2nd gorge of lime, Good time for it? Clear of snow? Trying to figure out the best place to hit first and how to time things this year...

Typically we start south, hit crested butte & Arkansas drainage, head north, and then look at crystal drainage last... Depending on snow pack and road conditions...

Thanks for sharing such awesome whitewater with us...

You could start with West Fork San Juan or Treasure. I've never run Treasure, but did WFSJ with 1200 on the Pagosa guage and it was a blast. It's probably good with 1000 to 1600 at Pagosa. 3rd Lime is probably good, 2nd way too high, and 1st should be really stout. CB should be awesome, definitely in. I've heard that the Upper Fryingpan is really good. Upper lake. Clear Creek of the Ark. Homestake/Gilman. Gore. Bailey. Clear Creek, SSV, Boulder, Big T, Poudre, blah blah blah. Great stuff all over. Have fun!

get a copy of Whitewater of the Southern Rockies. Cover your eyes, flip it open, and more than likely the page you hit will be running this year.....
