What's up with the Vallecito gauge?

It is reading low. (?)

I was there Thursdayand it was huge. Peaking at 3.3 or so at night, then dropping to around 2.8 on the staff gauge above the campground at mid day. The USGS guage on the internet was showing something like 2.5 that day. It wasn't that low at all that day on the staff gauge.

Shouldn't they read the same? Did it get flushed out there this year? Should still read the same though.

Anyway, I found a paddle on the creek (a river right now actually).

To all my ColoraBros: I'm here in Durango now, watching ToddG stress over the event here. Hoping to catch up with you guys in the next few weeks.

Give me a call and i'll show you some first-D's in your own backyard

Gordon

Rumor has it, the gauge is .2 different from last year. What used to read 2.2 is now equal to 2.0. So, if it says it is 3.3, it's actually only 3.1 and you should just step up and run it...with a snorkel.

Sketchy log in the bottom pinch of No Way Out. Heard it still goes though.

Lots of new lumber

and the gauge is basically the same it is off as stated above by maybe .2 and once you get above 2.3 YOU BETTER KNOW THE CANYON LIKE THE BACK OF YOUR HAND !!!!!!!!!!!!! There is lumber in pickup sticks, boofaunt and no way out that you makes you run far left......If you go right there is potential badness. All the creeks are huge again right now!!! so be careful and get info before heading out...
