What would cause a spray skirt to shrink? Any suggestions?

My spray skirt has gotten very tight--it's nearly impossible to put on the boat.

What would cause it to get so tight?

I've left it on the boat hoping that would loosen it up. It didn't seem to help. Anything else I can do?

It's a bomber skirt.

it might be the grade of the rubber used in the rand, or just age. Bomber made a beta for me on my super-ez, it seems to have shrunk, if that's possible. But it goes on a lot easier if it's pre-warmed. This time of year I put it on the floorboards of my car with the heat blasting before I try to put it on. I may take mine down to Bomber and have them look at.

I'm with the last two: I hit the pool last week & nothing fit. I started making beer this winter... could be part of the porblem. My advice: treadmill... :P :P

Yes, beer is good and it helps me survive the winter.

But, it doesn't cause the cockpit of my boat to get fat, which is the problem.

neoprene tends to shrink when it stays dry for long periods of time - be it wetsuits, skirts, or whatever...your best bet is two things: 1- lose weight (like i need to do) and 2 - get your skirt wet before putting it on the first few times of the season...
