What thickness for diamond plate in rowers area?

Making a small floor for the captains area of my cat. Going to use Diamond plate.

Any thoughts on the right thickness? Would be supporting a cooler, 2 rocket boxes and me.

I think the standard issue is 1/8" (0.125"). If you can find a way to support it every 15-18", that thickness will be fine.

My cat floor is 1/8 in diamond plate and spans 42 in side to side. It is supported on the sides with 1 1/2 x 1 angle. It has 1/8 inch aluminum straps welded underneath every 4 ft side to side. Over the years has developed about a 1/4 bow. I drilled a couple of small holes in the center for a drain and all is good.
Real adventure is only one bad decision away.

It may not make too much difference in your selection, but I think the standard frame decking material is actually treadbrite instead of diamond plating. It does save some weight, but actual diamond plating material I believe is a little more rugged and maintains its flatness a little better (ie - doesn't stretch/warp)

I used 3/16" diamond on my frame which may have been a bit overkill, but I can stand, boogie and crush cans without fear of warpage.

If you're in the Denver area, I'd suggest looking at Alreco over in commerce city. Bob takes cash only but I picked up some "used" material there and it was fairly reasonable.
