It's an outlet for the inner explorer,both armchair and the one that gets er' done.An excellent way to combine several passions travel,nature,exercise,water,adventure. An addiction.

Sitting on the bank, taking a break after pushing yourself to the limit, looking upstream at the rapid you just survived, feeling temporarily fulfilled and perfectly content in life. Lighting up a smoke as you replay the rapids in your mind...better than a cig after sex. Taking shit from your chums for lighting up that smoke. The only experience I've had where I can feel so blissfully calm, immensely apprehensive, scared shitless, and a great sense of accomplishment, all in the same minute. I just love it.

It's funny that somebody said this already because it's what I always say: you stay in the hole and all your troubles just head downstream.

your first role in a pond,
the first wave you surf,
playin in a big hole,
just chillin and enjoying summer,

but most importantly, at the end of the day, when you pop your skirt off, and your nostrils fill with that sweet aroma from your boat. mmmmm....swamp ass

Hiking 8 miles for a 4 mile run, having ice coating your pfd so you can't take it off when you finally get to your car, your friend losing his boat with everyones paddle and having to do a first Accent to get out, neck pain, foot pain, skinless knuckles, near drownings, saving your buddies life, putting in on a first descent only to find that it is nothing but logs, having a beer and a bowl 30 portages later,

and best of all, Knowing you get to do it again tomorrow.
