Drive 3 hours to put-in. Drive by put-in, boaters chilling. Drive over to Bridge, Grace Falls looks fun. Put in, flat water up to Grace Falls, GF ends up being quality Class IV Triple Drop ending in a 10 footer. Nice Juicy Class IV right below GF. About 15 more Class IV drops (some are more like III+, 1 or 2 are more like IV+) with short periods of flatwater. Arrive at Boo-Boo, straightforward Class V (comparable to Gore Rapid at 900 cfs). 8 or 10 MORE Class IVish rapids follow right to the takeout. Drink beer with boaters from Jackson, Driggs, Boise and Park City at the takeout. Stand there wondering if the boaters from Provo think we're bad people for drinking beer at the takeout. Drink another beer at takeout. Drive 3 hours home.
A great run with a surprising number of rapids, there were around 25 distinct rapids. The rapids just kept coming and all were straightforward, fun Class IV. I was in a creekboat but might take a playboat next time for the multitude of on-the-fly quality waves. The loc's told me the old Utah guidebook has the best writeup for this run, but if you're ready for legitimite Class IV all you need is the put-in and takeout.
Thank you American Whitewater for raising this run from the grave.
