What are these fittings? NRS Frame. bet you dont know

I just bought this boat from a guy in Alaska. I have never seen NRS fittings like this. Are they an older fitting that NRS quit using or are they a special fitting for bigger boats? They are way more heavy duty than the low pros that they sell now, and why don't they still make them besides that they are heavier?

Hi,

I noticed some years ago that the frame on the old Avon patrol boat at Westwater had this same kind of fitting. Always supposed it was just an earlier generation design.

FWIW.

They are old nrs. I was able to mill some down to the geometry of the newer fittings

The newer ones are lighter, cheaper, and allow for the crossbars to slide closer together
