Westwater solo

Anyone have a rough idea of how long it takes to run westwater in a day with a kayak? I'm toying with the idea of trying to solo and then bike shuttle back to the put-in all in one day.

I've only ever run it as an overnight and we always party barge the float out.

Its been a few years, but I want to say without much effort or paddling very hard we did it in 6-7 hours around 5 grand. A lot would depend on flow and wind, I bet if you were motivated you could do it ~4-5. Canyon goes quick and it is only 17 miles.

You should be fine. I did the shuttle on a singlespeed mountain bike in about 1:15, so you'll have plenty of time to paddle the canyon. Sounds like a fun time!

Depends how much surfing you want to do...?
I've been running solo day trips for 10 years...
run once a week...
Bike shuttles easy 13 miles, 1.5hrs, plus ride down the K trail, 45min,
should allow 2.5hrs from dropping off ur boat at puttin...

Planning on taking a creeker or longboat for times sake so probably not too much surfing.

Also planning on leaving early from moab, dropping bike at cisco, driving up, paddling, biking to put in, picking up boat on the way out.

I do the solo kayak and bike shuttle pretty often. Should be no problem to do in a day.

No problem. I did plenty of bike shuttle day trips on WW when I lived down there. Never solo but I did it 4 days in a row one time.
