As the guys mentioned, the whirlpools suck at that level. My 16' Maravia was sucked down almost to the top of the chambers, spun around 360 and then let go. I could do nothing about it. It's like being on top of the tornado looking down. If you have a swimmer in that thing, it would be a bad deal.
If you know your crew well and trust the guys to do exactly what a captain says, have a safety kayak or a cat close by, it will be doable. But that is what keeps S&R busy every rafting seasons, "novice" teams experiencing the fun rapids.... just look at Westwater thread a month ago. It was a novice group as well. Ended up with a boat in Room of Doom for days and lots of Buzz excitement!
