I was checking north and southfork flows and didn't come up with 500cfs am I wrong, or the gauge? Anybody running waterton tommorow or doing the Denver to Glenwood drive? I'm hoping to boat. What is up with the South St. Vrain is that worth running? If waterton has 500cfs what fork is running?
I have heard of people putting posts up about the same thing all winter. Unfortunatly, however, I think that ice on the gauge gives the false reading of flows higher than what they really are. I am sick of not boating though. If you hear of something running give me a yell(Class five stuff). This is just my two cents. I could be wrong, but I thought I would pass on the rumors of why the flows are false-postive.
Gauge reading is wrong. Look at the Bailey and DEckers gauges. They add up to less than 200. While they wont always add up perfectly , they will be close.
Keep checking though, I have definately seen water there in the middle of winter.
Glad I didn't drive for nothing. I'll keep doing a snow dance, hoping for some runoff.
