What is the level of difficulty at this level? I have never ran waterton: but sure would love to get into my boat.
It's about 2-3, Michelle. It was around 200 over the weekend and I wouldn't say it would be called more than 2+. When it gets up to 300, I would say its a relatively easy class 3. Lines open up once it's around 400 and you can play around with level of difficulty by what line you choose. The ice banks really weren't an issue over the weekend and there were no ice bridges, so those hazards aren't an issue (of course, always check the weather to see if something might have changed - there were some pretty bony channels that might freeze with low temps). If you have fun/are comfortable on Shoshone at moderate to low levels, I would say you would be psyched to get on Waterton too. I think Waterton is a great season "opener."

well if you ask briank, waterton is class II with one class VI being greenbridge at low flows because of that f-u rock. Then again, he has been sucking at kayaking for a while now.

I agree with this assessment. Greenbridge is at least V+/VI- till 300 cfs then it becomes class II like the rest of the run.

Waterton good to go

Paddled it top to bottom this morn in the playboat. Good fun, green bridge goes with a solid colorado mank rating. Beautiful morning to be on the water! Cheers
