Sorry,I don't know the brand,or even what to call the device, but a friend I boated with in Central America had a really cool digital camera w/video and recorder about the size of a fat wallet. It easily fit into the pocket of a drytop or lifevest ,it had a jack for one of those helmut cams was completely waterproof and also doubled as a cd/mp3 player when plugged into a car stereo. He wasn't videoing our run, just digital pics, but used the recorder to take notes for his up and coming guide book in the eddy"after the portage of the 80 ft.falls there's 300 yds. of class 2 leading to a long low angle class 4 slide,Jay ran left center I went right" etc. The thing was very handy and he told he got it at a very reasonable price. It would really be the shit if it had gps.Ask at electronics or camera stores or checkout thier catalogs, there is some awesome technology out there.

Helmet cams are probably the best option, because they give you a means to protect the camera housing. There are a couple out on the market, but be careful about which one you get. I bought a Viosport earlier this year, and it worked great until I pulled the cord loose from the connector. I asked Viosport if they could fix it, and they reported that they have no domestic repair facilities & cannot make any repairs to their products (warranty or otherwise- I was willing to pay for it). A customer service rep made a promise to try to find a replacement part so I could get it fixed locally, but then flaked and ignored follow-up emails. So, I'd go with some of the others recommended on the 'Buzz.

Waterproof Camera

The Pentax Optio W10 Waterproof camera 6 MP is a good option I see they have the W20 7 MP out as well. On www.pricegrabber.com the W10 is going for $224.00 but the W20 is just under $300.00.

If you want good video footage you really need a good camcorder. I like Sony equipment they have a SPK-HCB Marine Sport Pack when you surf Sony store will get you there, you will see what camcorder it is compatible with.
