Washington and Oregon rivers

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site, but I thought perhaps someone out there could give me some info.
My buddies and I are from Nevada and are looking to do some rivers in the Washington and Oregon states next spring/summer.
What we are thinking of is setting up a base camp and then heading out from there to run as many rivers as we can in our allotted vacation time. We are willing to drive a couple of hours from base camp to get to the rivers.
We have all done the multi-day trips and some of our family memebers dont like all the work of setting up and taking down everyday. So we thought that base camping would work.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions. We are all experienced boaters with class 5 experience.
Also could any one tell me about the Skykomish River in Washington?
Thanks for any info
