Many of you may know Charlie Butler, Dwight Butler, and Riley Cutler—the owners of Wasatch Touring in Salt Lake City. Charlie and Dwight have been members of the Utah whitewater scene for years, along with most other outdoor pursuits and their store is a popular outdoor center. I was there last week and found out from Charlie that their storage shed in back of the store was broken into on April 4th and they lost a lot of paddling gear. I asked him for a list of what they lost and promised to spread the word in hopes of recovering some if not all of their gear. Here’s the list, with serial numbers for each of the boats taken:

Please let’s all keep a sharp eye out for this stuff; it could turn up just about anywhere in the Intermountain area. If any of you are so lucky as to run across any of it, please contact Charlie, Dwight or Riley at 801-359-9361 or Charlie@wasatchtouring.com. Their address is 702 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84102. Thanks for your help in spreading the word and keeping an eye out for this gear.
And if the actual thieves happen to see this post, my message to you is: you have just racked up some seriously BAD karma which WILL come back to bite you on your sorry little ass(es). Personally, I would not want to trust my continued health and life to gear I have ripped off from someone else. Very bad idea! You’d best return it—no questions asked. The whitewater community is not that big, and you will not be welcome if and when you are discovered. Fair warning…
