Warm water play in the Fall?

I'm looking to take the fam on an extended vacation this fall and want to go someplace where we can get some time in the kayaks. After dealing with the cold water in CO for a few years, I really want to go somewhere that we can get in without dry-tops if we wanted.

We're class III-IV boaters, and would love to find a place that has a play park and a town all within walking/biking distance. So where should we go?

I usually skin to win it in august/sept.....where did you previously go in Colorado? Generally the Colorado river is plenty warmer then other rivers.... If not here, Out east is where a lot of boaters go, however WWP aren't as relivent as in Colorado..... Hope this helps

Of course, "town" is a very relative term, so maybe the WWP in Charlotte?

But Central America don't sound bad, either.

i was down in costa rica this winter the water feels like bath water and no need for anything but a pfd. you can acutely get a tan on the river its really nice. for me it brought up my feer-less-ness a little because quite frankly i am a little timid to swim in colorado where the water is much colder in costa rica i felt great challenging myself in the rive especially in big water. this company Costa Rica Rios is great you can either do a week of rivers only or a combo weeks with other things check out the web site as well.
