Vertical Challenge Update: “Let the registration begin!!!”

The best reason to quit your job this spring and raise donations for a truly worthy cause is now open for team registration. That’s right, at the following link, http://eddyflower.com/protected/EditTeam.aspx, you can now register your team for the Vertical Challenge. It is as simple as entering in:
  • Team Name
  • Team Members
  • State
  • Class (Open, Class IV, Class III, Weekend Warrior)
For those of you who have not heard about Vertical Challenge, it’s a simple competition, you and your paddling buddies paddle as many runs as you can endure from May 15 – June 15. At the end of the 30 days, the teams with the most vertical feet in each division are crowned champions. All funds raised go to First Descents a kayaking program for young adults with cancer. Open to all paddlers, from all states, of all skill levels. Click here for more details - http://www.eddyflower.com/VerticalChallenge.aspx

Prizes include Dagger boat, Kokatat drytops, WRSI helmets, Tech4O watches, KEEN footwear, Voz Sports shaders, Paddling Life schwag and Funnel videos. Special thanks to Alpenglow for picking up a big chunk of the event costs.

Easy +20,000 feet

Here is an easy way to rack up over 20,000 feet per person. All these runs are doable, and some could easily be looped 5 times in one day (Bear, Clear Creek Arkansas, Lower Clear Creek, Black Rock, Escalante, Left Hand). Bailey would be difficult to get 5 in on one day.

Run----------------------------------Feet-----# runs--------Total Feet
================================================
Bailey--------------------------------885--------5-----------------4425
Escalante---------------------------880--------5-----------------4400
Bear Creek-------------------------670--------5----------------3350
Black Rock-------------------------620--------5----------------3100
Clear Creek Ark------------------585--------5----------------2925
Lower Clear Creek-------------485--------5----------------2425
Left Hand Creek------------------480--------5----------------2400
---------------------------------------------------------------------23,025 feet total
