Is there any rule that requires a team to really paddle like one? Seems like if you can count a run done by 2 people as the team, then the team is better served by the other 3 paddling a different river to log their feet elsewhere.

Seems like to truly encourage team paddling a run should be counted as # of people feet as opposed to just "team feet

I'm sure there will be lots of nuances to work out if this truly becomes an annual event.

Sounds like a fun contest. Might have to join. Not that I have anywhere near enough free time to win.

Thanks Paul. And the site is looking really nice. So much content.....

Hey Paul, this comp sounds like a lot of fun and I am excited that you all at eddyflower are getting it rolling this year.

I was suprised, however, to see a thread over at boatertalk by Ben at steepcreeks.com, the "total vertical feet" march madness comp originator, saying that he just came across the colorado comp randomly on eddyflower.

Just thought it was worth a shout out to Ben for getting the ball rolling with this sort of idea a couple years ago. For the BT thread, go here:

Ben and the steepcreeps crew are definitely the founders of this type of competition, our hats go off them. It is great idea and that is why we thought it would the perfect format for raising money for First Descent a cancer camp for kids.

Good call ACC!
