Vallecito questions

Went for a hike up vallecito and I have a few questions. One, do you guys put in at the first spot where the trail comes back to the river after going over the ridge? Second, has anyone ever done the hike up and paddled the upper section? Pretty sure the juice wouldnt be worth the squeeze but it would be a beautiful float down.
