upper yule legends?
made the pilgrimage a few weeks ago, but we accidentally put in well above the recommended trail down. we hiked in pretty much at the bible camp, down to a little footbridge across the river. in the stretch between there and the famous four there were a few big drops, including a mank ~15 footer into a minigorge that ended in what looked like a clean, vertical ~50 footer, the landing of which was in a crack and we couldn't see. a gun-toting bible camp representative told us that three people have run it, one of whom died. the cowboy ended the tale on an encouraging note, remarking, "doesn't look too dangerous, just one of them things..."
just curious who else has been up there and if there's any truth to the legend, i imagine we're not the first group to put in too high on that run.
