upper animas question

i have been reading the thread about dareyl death. it seems as though the c.o. kayaking community is a tight knit group. i have no kayaking experience of any kind, but have an aunt that lives in lake city, about an hour southwest of gunnison. i've been on a few rafting trips in that general area and was curious where uppper animas is? i believe the trip offered out of lake city was class III-IV but have no idea what river this might be. my deepest sympathies go out to dareyl's family and friends as well as the customer who also lost his life that day.

if it was III-IV out of Lake City, it was probably redbridge to gateview on the Lake Fork of the Gunnison. To get to the Upper A from lake City would involve a 4WD road either way...cinnamon gorge (60ft waterfall) on one road, and henson creek (good V+ almost all the way to the top even though the lower half is all that gets run) on the other....good for kayakers, but not rafters. what was the name of the company?
