Union Chutes this early? if not, lookin for park&play

This is my first summer in CO (about damn time!) and im trying to get some beta on the play spots close to boulder. I am taking classes so longer than an hour drive during the week really wouldnt work that well.

its flowing 500 at the moment, but the bible says it should be run at 900-1400. I havnt played there for 6 years so I really dont remember how much flow is needed. If the conditions arent that great where else would be a great spot . Thanks for the info!

-Darren
P.S. sorry to add one more to the rivers!

This weekend there we're people having fun at Golden but every one is saying its to low still, some people out at Union @500+ surfing #1 and the hole @#2 was kinda small but people were playing in it and surfing #3 it wasn't as good as earlier this week @ 1000+ but it looked like the paddlers were having fun, Confluence Park @ 900+ had a couple of paddlers this afternoon when I drove over the bridge. It seems like how bad do you want to paddle I guess and what kind of paddling you are looking for.

until the flows at the others come up, union at 600 + is fun. Even 500 isn't bad.
