Watch out for sewer trolls, rats, syringes, and more condoms down at Trestle....we had a short but stout downpour in East Denver/west Aurora ...Cherry was already over came up to a perfect level, cranking but not washed out ,Troll Rapid ,which lurks under a bridge and was formerly known as the drop Formerly Known As Rebar,by me and the one other boater that knows it,is at a choice flow...Illiff looked kinda scary ,I'd give it a IV,but it is gnarlier than that ,not V because it is totally flat water above and below but a seriously manky and powerful slide...plan to run it tomorrow if it holds should,Res is full and more rain is coming...would not go far for it but if you live in SE Denver or West Aurora check it out...find the Elmira Street bike path access for the put in..there is a low water bridge,if water is within 6 " of bridge it is was completely underwater today...Troll is about 1/4 mile down...Iliff another mile..there are several II-III drops along the heads up for wood gets real lame after Illiff but picks up again around Holly..another big less manky drop by Bull n'Bush and a half dozen drops before University..low will have plenty of time to go run something else the logistics are simple...I know you are skeptical, will try to post pics

I finally braved Denver traffic and got out there. Flow on the gauge was 2550, but Confluence Jon said they're releasing 2600 from Chatfield.

There were a couple people driving away when we arrived, but otherwise nobody else was out there. I imagine there were 50 people running Lower Clear Creek tonight.

It's great right now. We skipped the upper two holes, but all the others were great. Hawaii 5-0 had eddy access on either side, although I thought river right was easier. I thought the bottom hole was the best with a nice big foamy pile, bouncy surf, and good retention.

It's not a great beginner flow, but if you can roll up in some swirlies you're good to go.

It seems like this is a once in a decade flow. Go paddle in some water for once!

Anyone lose a tampon? "The wave below 5-0" came in briefly takes 2700 I guess. 5-0 is some fast elbows-in material right now. Super fun.

Union is developing a new character...5-0 is mostly glass right now at 1800. Super-duper-fun for surfing that "new" Necky Jive with its "radical" planning hull and "revolutionary" hard chines.
