Neither of us are able to roll a kayak. We'd like to try inflatable kayaks, but know very little about which sections of rivers are best (although I do have a list I've prepared from the Paddling in CO book). We prefer weekdays, but can do weekends. We can also do canoe paddling. I own a solo sit-on-top kayak. My girlfriend does not have a boat. We'll therefore need to rent or borrow boats.
My wife and I both live in Boulder and are new to paddling. We both have whitewater kayaks, and we also prefer weekdays. We just did the Poudre from the filter plant to picnic rock (II/III-) and did well. I can roll (sometimes) she can't. Let me know when you want to get out! I'm trying to get out this thursday, and then it sounds like there's a few of us from here that are going to get out tuesday.
I'd also recommend doing a pool session to figure out your roll. Once you get your own gear you can practice at chatfield SP which is what we've been doing. The Poudre is about an hour and 15 min from Boulder, Deckers is about 2 hours. Let me know if you're interested in joining us. My wife and I both work funky schedules so it's hard for us to get out together sometimes. I also have an xterra that can take 2, maybe 3 boats. I'm shopping for a rack now.
