I have had both shoulders done, one twice and one thrice. this is over a 16 year period. a year ago I had a torn labrum, rotator cuff, biceps tendon, and an A/C joint repair. your shoulders will hurt for months, esp at night. mine finally quit hurting after 8 months. make sure you are fanatical with that physical therapy. when its done, get in the weight room three times a week, and never miss a session if you can help it. even if they hurt. the paddling-specific exercises are obvious: bench press, overhead presses, lat pull downs, triceps pull downs or extensions, biceps curls, and lotsa rows. when I got back into my boat after PT, the difference was noticeable. after 5 months of serious lifting, its nothing short of miraculous. I hadnt realized that I was a one armed man. not only will you be a super strong paddler, you will greatly minimize the chances of re-injury. I know a guy that had both shoulders done at the same time, and I dont think he's recommend anyone be that radical!! good luck to you!

Hope you heal up quick Marty! If you need any massage, I'm happy to make a trip to Boulder - since I have absolutely no income, any income is nice...a.k.a. I work cheap these days!

They should call the kayaker double shoulder repair the bionic boofer procedure.
Ian, that's awesome!!!!

Anesthesiologists put in nerve blocks, not surgeons.

Glad you're recovering well Marty!

Good luck- and take your time. I had to have my rotator cuff done twice because I pushed it a bit the the first time around. Been strong for 15 years now.

Good luck with the recovery Marty. You're on your way to living up to your signature. Seems like God should've put us together tight enough to handle OBJ. I guess that was before creekboats.
