you're right about the SF Coquille being in the middle of nowhere. I'll bet some years it sees no boating at all which is too bad because putting together sections 1,2&3 make for a fun class 4 run then camping and running the Elk the next day would make for a great weekend of class 3/4 boating.
I don't know if you've read the Falcon guidebook description of this run, but in it are some vague warnings about Rock Creek and some serious gnar-gnar, I would imagine that's just the stuff to get the class 5 boaters interest up. (Rock Ck. enters the Coquille on river left at the put-in bridge for section 1)
