to the SCUMBAG who left the REFRIGERATOR at the Upper Blue

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, there is an old refrigerator which was dumped at the Upper Blue takeout some time this evening (Sat 7/2).

I am certain that either the person who left or someone who knows this individual will read this.

We are lucky to have fun run like this in Summit County. We are even luckier that there is no permit fee for this run.

When the BLM, or whichever agency controlls the access to this location has to pick up trash, their operating cost goes up. When operating cost goes up, access fees are assessed.

People who leave trash in the restrooms or in a fire ring are bad enough.

People who dump refigerators at river access points can get the hell off the rivers of Summit County... or anywhere in Colorado... really anywhere on the planet.

RIVER KARMA WILL GET YOU! I hope you get the thrashing of your life in some hole and are so terrified of water that you are terrified to even step in a puddle for the rest of your life!

why do I always miss the clues in detective novels..?

Seems like I'm always missing the great clues in dective novels too! But why couldn't this just have been Buster from the Kremmling trailer park that found a great spot to drop and dump? I try to leave my refrigerator at home when boating.

Re: The Fridge:

The fridge has actually been there since last August, and none of the agencies on the sign at the takeout will take responsibility for removing it. I have contacted the Forest Service, CDOT, and never received a response. I take my dog for walks down there, and last summer, I took 15 bags of trash home in only 1 month. I have also knocked down fire rings that were smoldering. I do this because I love the River. I just want to find out, who is taking care of the place other than changing the toilet paper rolls?

It's good to hear that it did not appear during the boater rush that has been going on the past few weeks.

That makes me much more confident that it was not a boater.

I never saw it in my previous trips there this season, probably because there were so many people, dogs, cars, trucks, RVs, kayaks and rafts that it was hidden from view.

"duckygrl", thank you for helping to keep the place clean.

The fridge has been there for a while and it is sad that somebody, no, something, would do that. We, the boaters of Summit, need to take care of this because I am getting the feeling that nobody else is going to take responsibility. I believe it's five or ten bucks to drop it off at the SRP but the freon has to disposed of first (I'm guessing the lowlife who had the guts to leave it there didn't think to do that either). I've heard this is the expensive part ($60 maybe). Does anyone know the details of how, where, and how much this is? I'm sure we could get enough people willing to donate some money for this cause to make the cost reasonable. Hopefully there's not a body in it It's our stretch of river, lets keep it like it is.

How much are you asking?

How much are you asking? Is it one of those energy efficient ones? I'd love to take a look at it.

I'm no expert on refrigerators but it looks like a crappy piece of junk to me. I don't think anyone would want it to actually use it, but if you want to check it out it's at the campground take-out to the Upper-Blue. I think we just want to get it hauled away but anyone who wants it can just take it; I'm sure nobody would mind.

Blue River Fridge

Count,

I will absolutley pitch in to help remove that eyesore. Went down there today, and someone is using it for a trash can. How about sometime next week, if anyone knows someone with a big truck to haul it to the dump?
