tip to facilitate rolling..

Quite a while back someone had posted here[or on BT,not quite sure], that when doing a sweep roll bend your rear elbow when setting up instead of keeping both elbows straight during the setup. I started doing this and have noticed that my roll has become much stronger and reliable.Also requires minimal effort. I wonder if other paddlers also do this, and are there any other such valuable tips people can post?
