Of course they can. From the things I see, all the illiterate people are on the internet.

I also was fortunate enough to head out to the gauley for 2 seasons, the incredible hospitality of the majority of the people I met there was touching and very welcome. I ended up staying for hunting season and truly miss the friends I made out there. Almost heaven is right, if I'm lucky I'll make it back.

I'd never survive without her mountain accent.

I've shot a West Virginia whitetail, eaten ramps and watched the Mountaineers both win and loose at Milan Puskar stadium.

I get misty eyed when I hear John Denver sing the words "Almost heaven."

When I die, I'm okay if my ashes end up in a West Virginia holler -- as long as there's some moonshine passed around.

Very good post echohollow.. I may not agree with everything you mentioned, but agree with many points, yes, I have been there, and have witnessed similiar....

More importantly it was a great “journal post”, and took it as such… There are issues in WV like any other state, I didn’t see any text in the original post comparing Oregon to WV... Don’t be put off by all the drama echohollow...
