Reading through some of the blog posts it sounds like it was a helicopter. There were probably some places it could get in for a vert extraction but a lot where it couldn't. The first big drop where Pedro did the assisted mega seal launch I was thinking, man, that cameraman needs to give those guys some beta.

The initial preview they released didn't do justice to the difficulty of the WW and all locked into one of the most committing gorges I've ever seen. Amazing. I don't ever want to get foot rot.

Given it is a red bull production, with few other big name sponsors involved, my guess is they had 2-5 of everything including helicopters and drones. I thought I saw Benny Marr was a drone pilot in another film. With that canyon if there was a helicopter that close in some of those shots they would have been blown off the wall or at least see the choppers impact.

Also agree that they extract options might have been dramatized, but have no doubt they were in deep with little options for most of that trip. Good for them to build up the drama, holy shit that looked epic.

I thought I had foot rot once, I didn't.

So sick! Yep no doubt it was a heli, they probably dramatized everything a little bit but that is still super impressive and I would never want to do... Props to them!

I love how the brought and battery powered hammer drill! If it were me I think I would have taken a lighter hand drill. That said, mad props for these boys!
