The Greatest Short Kayak Movie I've Ever Seen..

Banks Mag Presents:

A Short Kayaking Movie by Skip Armstrong and Ryan Bailey.. This movie documents paddling the White Salmon River in Washington during the autumn months with paddler Kate Wagner.

It won this last weekend's PDX Film Festival. In my opinion, it's about the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Yet another reminder of why I miss the NW so much! This especially hurts since everything seems to be over here on the Front Range and their creeking season (as if there is really a non-season up there) is just beginning. Guess I'll have to pretend to like skiing as much as I like kayaking.

Enough whining. Time to go work out the quads.

By the way, that's the Orletta section of the White Salmon, which is the lower half of the Green Truss section, below most of the big drops. It's a really fun class III+ that is great in either a creek boat or a play boat. It's only an hour from Portland and it runs all year long.

I've only met Kate a time or two on the river but she struck me as a very smooth paddler and a nice person to boot. Nice to see her portrayed as such in the video.
