The beta on Big South for an out-of-towner
Hey yall.
My name is Matt, and I'm spending this June in CO to check out the creeking, hiking, beer, etc. As I have recently found out, my cash flow is dwindling, so I may be headed back soon. Anyways, I've had a good time so far, and hell, Vallecito was worth the drive from Tennesse in itself. I'm trying to figure out what runs are premium so as to maximize my last week and a half or so here. I've been told that Big South of the Poudre is the best run in the state, but I don't really know much about when it's gonna be garunteed. So far, it seems like the combination of the open gate/water level is the ticket for the run. I guess what I really need the beta for are
1.) the best water level for a first time run down,
2.) If that water level will chronologically correspond to the opening of the gate
3.) What else is going to be running in that area at the same time, and
Any and all help would be appreciated, and I hope y'all continue to have a good season
