im not sure about a house. if you find tarryall on a map, find the bottom gorge where it falls off the earth into the South Platte. trace it back upstream to the head of that gorge, and the first few miles immediately above there are flat, meandery willows. keep going up and the road will leave the creek for the next valley to the west [where the townsite of Tarryall is], while the creek flows through a small dome of front range granite and cuts a small gorge that looks like its about two city blocks long. above this there is a small meadow and some flats and then the road rejoins it a short ways above this.
how close in the P.G. to the gorge? it looks like either the top or the bottom is owned by the Tarryall River Ranch, i bet with a friendly attitude, some cash dropped in their store, and maybe a small donation to the ranch itself could probably get you some access pretty easy. its on my list to at least go bushwhacking around there this summer.....
