Taking my boat to Ecuador

Hey all,

I'm going to ecuador jan 30th and am asking for advise about user friendly airlines that accept boats and gear. I've been looking at prices, and they are all around $800 rt.
Appreciate the help!!

American will take your boat, but get it in writing and have them post it to your reservation. I got them to take my boat but with a fight. Coming home just have your receipt and you can skip paying to bring it back. I paid $750.00 and $80.00 for the boat round-trip. Unfortunately, if you are flying into Quito, American is the only decent choice to get there in one day. I can fax you their Whitewater Kayak unoffical policy and the person at DIA who makes the decisions. Continental will not take your boat. All I can say is do not take no for an answer and get to the airport early with someone who can take your boat home. Good luck and write the airlines. -dpj

I've decided to get a boat down there, take a fit kit and the rest of my gear. I'm flying american for $727. Can't wait.

If you are on a Small World Adventure trip, you will have a great time. Larry and crew are great folks and the rivers are awesome.
