Anyone interested in taking a swiftwater class this weekend on the poudre? Ive been trying to put this class together for a local fort collins club but we need a few more people to make it feasible. This will be a 2 day class taught by Nick Wigston.
Description:
We will learn about proper rescue equipment and how to use it.
Proper/efficient river running strategy
River Communication
Rescue organization and leadership
Rescue tecniques such as taglines, z-drags, etc.
We will also learn knots and some nifty rope tricks.
We will run through many real life rescue scenarios where i simulate a rescue
situation and the class has to complete a safe rescue.
students should be class III paddlers with a fairly solid combat roll.
