Vibes on the injury kclowe. I did a real number on my knee years ago desert racing motorcycles. I passed out on the trail the pain was so intense.
Lots of meniscal damage as well as totally ruptured acl.
I have to say at six months I was really strong. At nine I was in maybe the best shape of my life. I followed my PTs program religiously. Living in a ski town I see lots of folks push it, thinking they are healed just because the pain isn't as bad. One buddy reruptured his acl twice by not letting it heal enough.
Not that your surgeon isn't important, but I would really make sure you have the best pt around. Made all the difference for me. She knew when to push me and when I needed to take it easy. This mostly by watching how I moved on my damaged knee.

Agree with Ture that it's not the end of summer as you know it. Just redirect. Maybe get some easy rafting in, with you on the oars. Be the camera person for all your photoslutting friends.

Best of luck with the healing. You will be back soon.
