I don't think EJ will sell a ton of these, but there IS a market for it, and I think his reasons for doing the boat are on target. I borrowed a buddy's Topo Duo many years ago when the Tulsa Wave was still good. Put my 50-60# son up front and rode him through the meat. Probably had 2/3s of that hull out of the water ramping the big waves, while my kid was air-stroking way up high above the troughs. Then we pointed upstream and surfed a bunch, carving, pearling and giving him the face-douche. Laughed so hard we fell over and he fell right out. Will never forget that day.
Anywho, don't knock it till you've tried it. I think the boat can be a very good teaching tool. Maybe it's a little like tandem skydiving? We'll eventually get one in Tulsa for intros, instruction, and try to get local politicos and/or media types out on the water to promote our wave park. (Design for the park SHOULD commence later this year, if all goes according to plan.)
