Sunk without a permit

I have the first week (10 days) of July off have been denied on all permits. Whats a good river within a day or two of Salt Lake City to do without a permit? Also, something that will likely be "in" at that time.

If you're looking for a multi-day, the Green above Lodore is an option for you. It's almost a guaranteed flow for early July because of release from Flaming Gorge. It would also give you the benefit of driving to the put in, setting up camp, and running your shuttle all in one day.

Assuming you are a rafter of III - IV ability these would be worth considering:

Lochsa, Alpine Canyon of the Snake (maybe other sections too?), Payette river system, Cataract Canyon of the Colorado, Gunnison Gorge, Arkansas River System, American river system in Cali.

Plenty more but this is a good place to start. With time you can hit a main section and explore nearby rivers/creeks. Have fun!
