Still room in this weekends SWR class.

Mike Mathers will be here doing a two day SWR class. It will be here at the shop Saturday 8:30- 4:30 for classroom and dryland stuff and out at the Foxton section (Sunday 9:00-5:00) for on water drills and practice.

The class is $175 and call 303-433-3676 for details.

If you have never taking a Swiftwater Rescue Class NOW is the time. You do not have to be a expert level kayaker to gain tons of knowledge. In fact this class is a must for anyone who reads this site. It always amazes me that every raft guide goes through a SWR class and very few kayakers take a SWR class. Why? I have no idea- maybe we just feel that a rafter can always bail us out if we get into trouble.

For me I feel a SWR class keeps me from getting into trouble. If I do get into trouble the knowledge gained helps me to fix the problem quickly. Be safe- take the class.

The best class you can take for swiftwater. A reminder, Mike is the same guy that instructed our 1 day class at Paddle with the Pros last year in Lawson. Ask anyone that took that class how good he is. The one we did last year was just a quick intro and education. This is the full on class. I highly recomend it even to those that came out last year. The full class will teach so much more.

Alpine Quest Sports in Edwards (just down the road from Vail) is offering a 2 day class with Mike on July 8/9.

Call the shop (970-926-3867) for more information.
