Ssv

It looks to be coming up- anyone scout it re: wood? Anyone interested in a Weds PM run? 150 is my minimum level- everything goes, but it's almost there now, and will likely come up. It may be too high soon

Are there really Class V+ rapids on SSV? What are some other runs that are comparable to this run? At what levels does it become pushy and what level is good for a 1st timer?

Hmm, what is like SSV? Upper Big Tommy, (the section starting with garbage disposal and described at Colorado Kayaking :: Colorado's online river guide and journal for whitewater kayaking, not the part in the guidebook or linked to from the flow page) sort-of. Many drops like Bear, but more continuous, with many harder drops, and very high pin potential. Continuous like source of boulder creek, but nowhere near as gnarly as Eldo on SBC.
That being siad, the V+ can easily be walked.
Anyone else w/ good comparisons? Psyched to get on anything SSV-esque!

200 is probably a good first time level. It's really boney though. It doesn't really get good in my opinion until it's well over 250. 350 or higher is the tits. it's probably one of the best runs on the front range at that level. Hats off for you guys getting in there at 150. you must have lots of patience.
