I'm looking for sprayskirts for a Jackson Little Hero. I am new to the sport, and am looking for a sprayskirt that is easy to wet exit in, but won't implode, and can withstand large water, (III to IV river running, not creeking,) well.

I love my snapdragon with an implosion bar. It's an upgrade for me, as I used to get punched in the nuts by large waves pushing down on my too flexible skirt.

I'm thinking the key hole for that boat is a large. Any skirt with a rubber rand will hold on to the cockpit rim very well. They are a pain in the arse to get on the rim unless they are wet. Just make sure the grab handle is on the outside and pretty much all skirts are easy to wet exit with.

I have 3 Jackson kayaks and none of the standard issue spray skirts fit and I was assured by the persons I ordered from they would fit. Jackson hero, rocker and now villain cockpits are longer than standard with a shape which puts the normal back band pretty far forward. When you put the back of normal spray skirts under the rim and then lean forward to put the front over the lip the back will roll up and over the back rim. It is a struggle to get the thing on. Not saying it cannot be done it is just a pain in the butt to put up with. Go to

and send them a tracing of your cockpit and where the backband is when you have the boat trimmed out. They will give you a custom fit and standard prices. I blew money on 3 skirts till I finally found and got my skirtworks spray skirt. Problem solved. The Villain now is easy to get into.

I have used mountainsurf, ir, and snaPdragon. I would recommend the snapdragon! Super dry and fit Jackson keyholes well.

The new IR skirts are great, but I really like my Bomber Gear stuff. Been in big water and done big drops and it never implodes, but is easy to put on and take off the cockpit.

I've used Snapdragon and Bombergear with my All Star and Villain and haven't had any problems with either one, but I don't know what the Hero's cockpit is like.

A Snap Dragon River Trek EZ size Large Deck will give you the size and easy use that you need. The skirt should stay on through most everything, but if you are looking for something with more durability and strength you might want to look a the Snap Dragon Reinforced Spray Skirts. You can also find your deck size on Snap Dragon's site.
