Remember these rain event peaks bring every piece of dog shit washed off every street and parking lot in the metro area. Also the 6000 peak was a very short surge about midnight. Years ago I jumped on Boulder Creek during an incredible late season rain storm, highest I had ever seen it. By the time I had gotten thru Eben Fine Park it had dropped to the point I was dragging my boat.
I have run the Platte at 2500, Union to Confluence in a 12' cat and it was a blast. But we did take the boats to the car wash afterwards.
