South Platte releases update

From the DWB today:

Regarding flow projections, we have continued to have wet weather on the Platte, and I don’t have any need for Roberts Tunnel. The way things are going, we may not have to turn it on until late June. Of course that can change if we get sustained hot, dry weather.

Flows from Cheesman will continue high for the foreseeable future. We are currently spilling Cheesman, and have an outflow of around 650 cfs. I expect that to increase as runoff progresses. This is good news both for kayakers and the fishery between Cheesman and Strontia.

So this means 11 mile is running? Anything else above the deckers run worth catching?

Sorry Dave - 11 Mile is below 11 Mile Rez, above Cheeseman, so this doesn't affect the levels in 11 Mile or Cheeseman/Wildcat Canyon.

If you hike the Gill Trail in, you can run the SFSP below the Cheeseman Dam to Deckers. But b/c of DHS closure of the Cheeseman Dam and Rez, this is the only way to bag it. I would expect a fair amount of wood in there, since it hasn't really been run (to my knowledge) for several years. There was some talk earlier in the season about some folks doing it, might try to contact them if you can find the thread.
