Update for all you jonesers:
Drove from deckers to confer yesterday. South Platte from Deckers to Waterton free of ice, but low and, well even with water it's better fishing than boating. North fork is frozen. Waterton was free of ice at confluence, but I didn't investigate downstream. Waterton is the same aspect as North fork, so maybe it's frozen, however I'm thinking that it might be free of ice due to the warmer water flowing through the south platte out of Cheesecake. Whatever, I'm going skiing.
