South Platte - 11 mile

The AW gages say that this section is running at low levels. Can anyone confirm? Has anyone run this at 200 cfs? I know it ran in 2002 but rarely runs. Thanks, Jamie

Short answer: no it is not running

Long Answer: The AW website can only use certain gauges for some reason. The gauge that phateye uses is "South Platte near Lake George", which I assume is the outlflow of that reservoir, currently 40 cfs. That is the real flow through 11 mile. Unfortunately the only gauge AW has available for the run is "South Platte above Cheeseman Lake" which is the flow many miles downstream into that reservoir. Normally the little feader creeks are pretty dry and the majority of the water comes from Lake George, so then the AW gauge would be realistic, but not when they are holding back water in the reservoir when it is wet in the spring...

clear as mud?

11-mile reservoir is full to capacity already, before runoff. I would think it will run this spring, eventually.
