If you have a shuttle driver and a strong team, do it all! Day one: alpine start and paddle Secesh to Ponderosa. Make sure water is not too high and don't dally on the portage (it's not really that bad....trail is good). Day two: Flight simulator to Deadmans bar, best section of the EFSF. Day 3 Alpine start with bivy gear from the regular South fork put in down to near the confluence with the main. Day Four stroke it out to Vinegar Creek ( 4 hours at med-high flows). You'll be jacked.
If the South fork is really cranking( above six feet at Krassel) you can do the entire SF in one day no problem. At those levels I'd stay off the Secesh, it's a smaller river bed and get's pretty beefy above 1000 cfs. EFSF however just gets better with more water.
Final Note: The bar at Yellow Pine is cool. Friday is Kareoke night. I heard Tim Kennedy sing "War Pigs". I swear.
